Processing Guides
Our polypropylene processing guides provide convenient tools for choosing, and using, the resin grade that's most suitable for your specific application.
Fiber & Slit Film Applications
Screen | Print-Friendly
This guideline focuses on Formolene ® polypropylene grades used in a variety of extrusion applications including Slit Films, Strapping, Straws, CF & BCF, as well as unique non-woven staple fibers.
Injection Molding
Screen | Print-Friendly
This guideline shows the potential process starting point for injection molding. The final process may be dependent upon such factors as part and tooling design, wall thickness, flow lengths, and desired level of molded part quality.
Single Screw PP Sheet Extrusion
Screen | Print-Friendly
This guideline refers specifically to single screw extrusion; the most commonly used processing step for film and sheet extrusion.
Formolene Thermoplastic Olefins (TPOs)
Formosa has combined the advantages of both new catalyst technologies and new process technologies to create a family of customized TPOs with rubber contents of 25 to 45 percent and excellent impact strength — even at temperatures as low as -40°F.
These materials can be used as a base for filled and reinforced compounds, replacing more expensive engineering thermoplastics in automotive and appliance applications. They are also well suited for exterior packaging, consumer and industrial applications.
TPO resins can be custom-produced to meet customers’ specific needs and orders. Please contact us to discuss how we can help you take advantage of these unique and effective materials in your products.
